Practice management consultancy E&W Strategic Partners has released a transition to fee-for-service handbook that it believes goes beyond the pricing of advice.

Whether leaving for greener pastures or hit with a lay-off, those with company sponsored 401k plans should make an informed decision about what to do with their 401k plan with the former employer.
There are four options to choose from:

Leave the retirement savings in the existing 401k plan.
401k rollover to a new employer’s 401k plan if transfers are accepted.
401k plan rollover to an IRA.
Withdraw the balance of the old 401k.

Lawmakers are looking beyond the 2010-2011 budget year that begins Friday to the 2011-2012 budget that legislators will begin considering in March when new representatives and senators convene in regular session.
“Unless the economy improves drastically, we’re looking at a train wreck of huge proportions,” state Rep. Jack Page, D-Gadsden, said Wednesday of the 2011-2012 budgets.
Page is vice chairman of the House Government Appropriation Committee that considers the General Fund.
