Retirement? What, me Worry?

7 August 2010 No Comment

Despite all the recent upheaval (from economic to environmental), people don’t seem terribly concerned about their retirement.? As reported recently by Fox Business, more than half of pre-retirees and current retirees thought merely handing over the management of their money during their first three years of retirement would assure them of never depleting their funds.? of course, that’s illogical since the amount of money saved (e.g., 401(k), IRA, Roth IRA) is going to play a much bigger role than the investment returns earned in just the three years after you retire.

What about you? How has your attitude toward retirement changed (or not changed) as a result of the Great Recession?? Are you more nervous or have you just tried to tune out the news?? What about your parents or children – what changes are you seeing there? What changes would you like to see?
